Can you imagine a home being constructed in just two days? This isn’t a dream—it’s happened, thanks to 3D printing technology.
According to an article in Fortune, the first 3D printed home in the country has just received a permit of occupancy, and now the team behind the 350-square-foot prototype home is looking to lower costs to improve home affordability in developing nations.
The Austin, Texas-based startup called ICON is aiming to bring costs down from $10,000 to $4,000, in part by developing new technology to further speed the production process. InterestingEngineering.com reports ICON hopes to develop drones that could rapidly spray paint the exterior walls.
