The Good Neighbor Corner

9 April, 2020

Sun Coatings, manufacturer of paints, adhesives and specialty coatings in Tampa, Fla and operator of retailer Sun Paints & Coatings has responded to the coronavirus pandemic by repurposing a portion of their manufacturing facility to produce and distribute hand sanitizer. Using FDA approved guidance procedures, the facility donated over 350 gallons of hand sanitizer to local police, firefighters, military, schools, churches, hospitals and company employees.

“Having the facilities, staff and access to raw materials, we saw the manufacturing of hand sanitizer as the most appropriate way to benefit our community,” said Michael Hyer, Sun Coatings Chief Executive Officer.

Sun Coatings has been increasing production and began stocking hand sanitizer for sale to the general public on April 7.
