You can imagine that back in the recession, low-priced competition was named as the biggest challenge contractors faced, as people were willing to work for what they could get to put food on the table. And conversely, hiring was not a challenge, because everyone needed a job. Now, while painters feel hiring is their biggest challenge, lowpriced competition comes in a strong second, followed by scheduling. Many business owners have stated that finding quality painters is difficult, and some have stated that many applicants suffer from addiction issues. A new category of challenges is systems implementation, which with the advent of digital technology is putting more business owners and staff behind a computer or smartphone.
