Virtual Estimating with Chad Turpen

26 June, 2020

To keep crews and customers safe, many contractors are turning towards virtual estimating. Along with protection from COVID-19, they’re also finding it saves time and energy. We asked Chad Turpen, owner of Turpen’s Painting, Evansville, Indiana, to give us a three-minute tutorial on how he uses Google apps such as Google Earth and Google Duo along with other technologies for virtual estimating – and instead of three, he gave us over 20! Here's Chad's take on taking messurments and estimating materials needed by using Google Earth for commercial and residential jobs.

Take away tips:

  • Make sure to look at as much of the structure as possible.
  • Ask as many questions as needed, especially about problem areas.
  • Share relevant information with your crew
  • Make sure your customers understand that a virtual estimate is not a final quote.
