An Ever-changing Remodel
![]() |
The traditional wooden kitchen cabinets got a sleek new color.. |
Enterprise Painters was approached to help paint a home under renovation. But with other trades scrambling to finish their work, the project soon became a game of schedule-juggling. Company owner Brock Norton notes that the crew was constantly adjusting the project schedule and adding work (and crew members to cover it) throughout the project. The crew even wound up working with the carpenter to help finish his work once he was done putting in the crown molding and baseboards.
Kitchen cabinets all were sprayed with one coat of Sherwin-Williams Extreme Bonding Primer, a coat of Zinsser B-I-N stain-blocking primer and two coats of Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial urethane alkyd enamel. The walls were painted in Sherwin-Williams’ warm “Cashmere,” while the baseboards, crown molding and wainscoting were coated in Sherwin- Williams Pro Industrial water-based alkyd urethane.

Because of the frequent changes, the crew made sure to over-communicate with the customer about the status of the project to keep everyone’s expectations in line. The painting contractor also explained to the customer how any accepted change orders would be quoted.
The painting and management approach both apparently worked, as this project was completed on a reasonable timeline and with a fantastic aesthetic.
