The two-story brick home was the subject of a full interior renovation in 2017 that included painting. When it went on the market in 2018, an interested buyer pointed out that the dull brick exterior detracted from the property’s appeal. Due to the home’s age and the brick used, it looked dated and lackluster compared to the rest of the neighborhood.

Scott Barthelmass Painting sent a fourperson crew to the property to give the exterior a standout paint job. Selecting the right color to get the desired effect was tricky enough; ultimately the buyer settled on a unique variation created from mixing several colors. Color selection wasn’t the only delay, however. Summer 2018 proved to be very wet. Day after day of storms and rain finally gave way to extreme heat. To recover from the delays due to the weather, the team worked hard to complete the project on time. Because the home was not accessible in many areas by lift, this meant extra hours performing strenuous ladder work in the Missouri heat.

The result left both the seller and new homeowner quite pleased. Local real estate professionals commented that the paint job not only updated the look of the exterior of the home — but added between $30,000 and $50,000 to its market value.
